Changing the whole script

Well this is fantastic. We are changing our whole script now. Why we changed it was more of a personal decision made by the one and only Robert. He wanted this change because it made more sense of the story and plot for the opening. Also Robert has his family now helping out this film which is a positive.

Now the film starts at Robert's house where he is celebrating his birthday. He will get these dog tags from the birthday. He also receives a Jaguar for his birthday because why not. This is to show that he is wealthy and not necessarily normal. While he is driving around in his new Jaguar, the radio plays and that is when the news breaks out about a war. That's when he finds out about what is happening in this world. That's how we introduce the plot.

In the next scene he goes to the mailbox to get his birthday cards. In the mailbox is where we will put a unique letter in there( the draft notice) and he brings it back to the house. While he opens the birthday cards he returns back to the unique card. Once he opens it and then reads the card he finds out he gets drafted to the military. That's when the opening ends.

Other part of school shooting

Today we finished the whole school filming scene. We recorded the in class shoots. These shoots show more about Robert learning about the war. This part just shows that the war is happening and more and more talk about it. This is showing how the news is spreading in the school now. That he is only focusing on this war and not school.

These shots were all filmed with an iPhone 8. These clips take up around 10 seconds. These clips show the intensifying times of the war developing. The clips show that everything is now becoming to focus more and more on the war rather than normal life. How the times were changing and everything isn't normal now.

We also got feedback in our feedback session. It was more about to show if he was pro-war or anti-war. The answer to that was he wasn't against the war. He liked the army and the plot wasn't supposed to be about being anti-war or pro-war. It was about him just being sent to war all of a sudden.

School recording

Today we finally recorded our school shots. We didn't finish all of them, but we did majority of them. The scenes we were working on were the transitions shots. The shots were he arrives to school then to his classroom. These shots helped show and give the location of where he was and who he was.

We took multiple angle shots for the transitions at school. All shots were done outside and just him walking around. All the shots were was Robert walking to class and seeing the school. This took up around 20 seconds of the film and is a good transition from the house to school. All these clips were recorded on the iPhone 8.

These shots do hold meaningful points to the film. The whole school scene is to show that Robert is an ordinary kid. He isn't anything special or different. He is just a normal student living a normal life.

Update on film

Well this blog isn't going to be so interesting. Both my group members are gone on vacation. Robert has still not found a way to send me the clips(Pretty sure he gave up by now) and we aren't recording anything new until May 3rd. We are just enjoying our spring break and taking a break from the film.

The clips have looked good and we should be making progress soon once the whole group returns from vacation. So the film is at a hold as of now. So I really haven't done much with this film for the last two days.

Until May 3rd I really am not doing anything with this film. We have everything ready editing wise once we finish the recording. It is now the waiting process.

When We Will Edit

We have, like I said last blog, recorded most of the video. All we need is the school clips and we should be good. If we get to finish recording on May 3rd then we have the idea of editing from May 4th- May 12th. Robert and I will be editing this film. Robert still doesn't know how to transfer the clips to my computer or to anyone yet so hopefully we can get that settled.

Focusing back on our film, the reason why we did the final scene to is because it takes place at Robert's house when he finds out he is going to war. We didn't wait for the school scenes so it stays in order. We wanted to finish our filming as quickly as possible. We did the filming out of order so we can complete it well.
